Linux Compatibility Testing Results

This document presents the results of the Linux Compatibility testing with RedHat 7.1, SuSE 7.1, Caldera 2.4 and TurboLinux 6.1 on the ASUSTek A7V266-C workstation system.


AppLabs' Linux compatibility testing of this system showed the ASUSTek A7V266-C to be compatible with Red Hat 7.1, SuSE 7.1, Caldera 2.4 and TurboLinux 6.1. The ASUSTek A7V266-C is awarded the AppLabs' Linux Compatibility mark.

Hardware Details

The following table defines the hardware configuration details for the tested system.

Hardware Configuration Information
Motherboard and Processor The mainboard is an ASUS A7V266-C with the Award 1001 chipset. Processor is an AMD Athlon clocked at 800 MHz.
Display Adapters Asus AGP V3800M
I/O Busses The test hard drive was an EIDE-type drive. The CD-ROM is an ASUS DVD 8X. Sound chipset: CMI8738 The floppy drive is a generic 1.44 MB.
The system has one (1) parallel port and two (2) 16550a serial ports. There are one (1) each of PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports. Other ports include: six (6) PCI slots; one (1) AGP slot; and, two (2) USB ports; and, one 91) AMR port.
Network Interface3Com 3C905TX
Included Peripherals Keyboard as tested is a 101-key generic. Mouse as tested is a Logitech PS/2 mouse.

1. Install TurboLinux audio driver for CMI878. Get the cmlinx.zip file from: ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asua/misc/audio.
