Linux Compatibility Testing Results

- This document
presents the results of the Linux Compatibility test, which
included the installation of Caldera OpenLinux 2.2, Turbo Linux
3.0.1, and SuSE Linux 6.1. on the IBM intellistation E Pro
family of workstations.
AppLabs' Linux
compatibility testing of this system showed the IBM
intellistation E Pro family of workstations to be compatible with
Caldera OpenLinux 2.2, TurboLinux 3.0.1, and SuSE Linuz6.1. The
IBM intellistation E Pro is awarded the AppLabs Linux
Compatibility mark.

Motherboard and Processor |
The mother board uses the
Intel 440 BX chipset with an integrated Crystal Audio sound card . This system contains one Intel
Pentium III processor. The processor as tested was clocked at
500Mhz.

Display Adapters |
All configurations as
tested by AppLabs included a Matrox G200 AGP display
adapter. There are eight megabytes of video memory present.

I/O Busses |
There
are three PCI slots. This system includes two ISA slot. The system includes a standard floppy drive
interface. There are two USB ports present. There are PS/2 style
keyboard and mouse ports present. |

Network Interface |
The network adapter used
is an Intel EtherExpress Pro100. |

Included Peripherals |
The included CD-ROM drive
is a Hitachi ER-8430 32x. This is an ATAPI device attached to
the IDE interface. This system used an IBM KB-7953 104 button PS/2 key
keyboard. This system used a Logitech for IBM M-535 3-buttton mouse.
The configuration tested used an Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI
host adapter and a IBM-PCCO DDRS-39130W SCSI drive. An IBM-DJNA-371350 (13GB) IDE drive was also installed on the system.

Miscellaneous Hardware |
There are two 16550A
compatible serial ports present. There is one bi-directional
parallel port present. There is one 1.44 megabyte floppy drive
present. |
