Related Notes
Caldera eServer 2.3 Notes:
1. Video chip is unsupported. To use X, choose the XF86_VGA16 X driver.
SuSE 6.3 Notes:
1. SMP not automatically installed. User will need to recompile kernel to get SMP functionality.
2. Tester had success configuring X when using YAST to set up X. Choose the "S3 Trio3D/2X" from the driver list.
Highest resolution available was 1024x768 with an 8-bit color.
TurboLinux 6.0 Japanese
1. The user will need to make some modifications to the install to get a properly working console/X server.
This requires the user NOT use the X setup program (runs when the machine reboots during the install process.)
You'll need to install the XF86_FBDev server. Refer to the Framebuffer-HOWTO for specifics on setting up this X
server.
You can also email AppLabs for assistance with this issue. Ask for information on setting up TurboLinux 6.0
on the Netfinity 7100 or eServer xSeries 240 machines and we will send you a list of steps for setup along with examples as provided
by IBM.
