This document presents the results of the Linux Compatibility test, which included the installation of Redhat 6.1 on the SuperMicro Super Server 8050.


AppLabs' Linux compatibility testing of this system showed the Super Server 8050 to be compatible with Redhat 6.1. The Super Server 8050 is awarded the AppLabs Linux Compatibility mark.

Hardware Details

The following table defines the hardware configuration details for the tested system.

Hardware Configuration Information
Motherboard and ProcessorThe system tested contained four (4) Intel Pentium II Xeon processors clocked at 550 MHz. System was tested with 512 MB RAM.
Display Adapters There is an ATI 264 Rage Pro PCI video card with 8 MB video RAM.
I/O Busses The system includes a standard 1.44 MB floppy drive interface. There are ports for PS/2 style keyboard and mouse. The tested system included five (5) Quantum Atlas10K 9.1 GB hard drives. There are Zero (0) ISA slots; eight (8) 64-bit PCI slots; no AGP slot; and, two USB ports. There is one (1) external SCSI connector.
Network InterfaceThis system contains an i82557/i82558 10/1000 NIC interface built into the main board.
Included PeripheralsThe included CD-ROM drive is an 14X Atapi-type IDE drive. The system was tested with a Dell Quietkey keyboard (101-key standard) and a generic 3-button PS/2 mouse.
Miscellaneous Hardware There are two standard 16550A serial ports. There is one bi-directional parallel port. There is one 1.44 megabyte floppy drive.
