This document presents the results of the Linux Compatibility testing with RedHat 8 on the Contender Plus workstation system.

AppLabs' Linux compatibility testing of this system showed the Contender Plus to be compatible with RedHat 8. The Contender Plus is awarded the AppLabs Linux Compatibility mark.

Testing Peripherals	Keyboard as tested is a 101-key generic. Mouse as tested is a Microsoft Intellimouse PS/2 mouse.
Setup and Configuration Notes	VIDEO - Upon initial installation some video issues were occurring. 1) Portions of the screen did not rewrite and refresh correctly causing icons and text to be overwritten. 2) When selecting a 16bit color depth. The system loaded at 640x480. Information from the Intel website indicated that the i810 and VESA video driver only support 'Legacy' memory and only up to 8MB of memory for this system. The bios of this system defaults to allowing only 1MB of legacy ram. To correct the video issues, we set the bios 'On board shared memory size' to 8MB and set the driver in the REDHAT display configuration to 8MB of ram. This corrected both issues noted above. SOUND - Redhat correctly identifies the sound chip on this system but does not create a port for it and leaves the device disabled. Sound tests were marked as NA since they could not be tested.
